Job Summary
We are seeking a Mobile Ophthalmic Technician to join our team! As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will be responsible for conducting the initial assessment of a patient, including listening to their complaints or concerns, obtaining a relevant medical history, and measuring intraocular pressures, refraction, visual acuities, and more. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, exceptional customer service skills, and is extremely organized. 

Responsibilities 
  • Greet patients and gather medical history and relevant information for their visit
  • Conduct an initial assessment of the patient and record all findings
  • This employee is able to handle a wide range of duties while using optical equipment to perform the initial testing needed to prepare a patient for an exam with an Optometrist
  • Operate manual lensometer, auto-lensometer, autorefractor/keratometer, retinal camera, visual field, GDX or OCT

Qualifications
  • Previous customer service experience desired.
  • Candidates should have excellent computer skills/ophthalmic or optical experience. 
  • EHR experience is a plus.
  • Commitment to work over 40 hours to meet the needs of the business
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
